An Amazon Prime Air cargo plane operated by 21 Air crashed in Miami on Sunday after overrunning the runway by approximately 1,300 feet (396 m) and striking two ground vehicles. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said the crew ignored multiple automated warnings, including « sink rate sink rate » and « too low terrain », as the aircraft descended 400 feet in just four seconds. Five people were killed and another five injured in the crash. Fifteen seconds after touchdown, a pilot called for aborting the landing while the plane was still traveling at 120 knots (138 mph), but recorded data shows no deployment of speed brakes or thrust reversers. The captain, 55, has 7,145 hours of flight time, while the first officer, 37, has 2,655 flight hours. The aircraft was on its third flight of the day, coming from San Juan, Puerto Rico.
