PayPal announced the elimination of 251 positions at its San Jose headquarters, targeting senior software engineers and product directors, with layoffs set to take effect on October 30, 2026. This cut is part of a broader plan to reduce the global workforce by approximately 20%, representing nearly 4,760 jobs out of the company’s 23,800 employees at the end of 2025, to achieve $1.5 billion in annual cost savings.
