The meme coin BONER controlled 53% of tokenized Hims & Hers Health shares on Robinhood Chain over the August 30 weekend, briefly pushing the wrapped stock price to $132.64, more than four times the real HIMS stock close of $28.84. Yet the actual HIMS stock barely moved, trading near $29 on Monday. These meme coin-stock pairs generated $217 million in trading volume on September 2 on Robinhood Chain. HIMS has a 25% short interest on the NYSE, but the MEME token paired with AMC reached a $56 million market cap with $73.5 million in 24-hour volume. AMC CEO Adam Aron sharply criticized the practice while Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev defended it.
