Hyperliquid unveils HIP-3* as optional layer for permissioned markets

Hyperliquid Labs has announced HIP-3*, an optional layer built on the existing HIP-3 protocol that enables deployers to control access to their markets through onchain allowlists. This strictly additive functionality does not modify current HIP-3 deployments and targets market operators requiring additional access-control capabilities. Separately, Hyperliquid Labs reportedly discussed a partnership with Payward, the parent company of Kraken, to allow US traders access to Hyperliquid-linked perpetual futures through the regulated exchange Bitnomial. The proposal has been submitted to the CFTC and would require regulatory approval before launch.
