Meta’s AI initiatives could drive next trillion-dollar phase by 2027

Meta Platforms plans to invest up to $145 billion in capital expenditures for 2026 alone, with nearly all of it directed at artificial intelligence. The company intends to deploy 7 gigawatts of AI computing capacity in 2026, then double it to 14 GW by the end of 2027. Its custom Iris chip, the fourth generation of the MTIA, enters production in September 2026, with new iterations planned every six months. Analysts estimate Meta could generate up to $22 billion in annual gross revenue by renting excess computing capacity starting in 2027. The company’s current market cap stands at approximately $1.51 trillion.
