Uber slashes 3,300 jobs as it streamlines for robotaxi push: Report

Uber is cutting 3,300 jobs, roughly 10% of its global workforce, bringing headcount to around 30,000, a level comparable to 2021. The company is also reducing its manager workforce by approximately 20% and has already committed over $10 billion to autonomous vehicle partnerships and equity positions. Despite the cuts, Uber plans to keep hiring for more than 500 engineering positions tied to its robotaxi ambitions. The stock rose roughly 2% following the announcement.
