Nvidia invested $3.5 billion in Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek through convertible bonds as part of a broader $3.9 billion offering that also attracted participation from Alphabet. The investment represents Nvidia’s largest direct financial commitment outside the United States. The two companies are collaborating across three domains: AI infrastructure, edge computing, and automotive platforms. MediaTek is targeting $2 billion in revenue from its custom AI chip segment this year, aiming to capture 15% of an estimated $80 billion addressable market by 2027.
