John Ternus, Apple’s incoming CEO, met The Pokemon Company team and Pikachu at Apple Park on Thursday, just days before taking over on September 1. Tim Cook, who steps down from day-to-day operations, shared video of the visit on X, joking that only two of three goals were achieved as Pikachu reportedly made it to the campus pond. Apple shares closed at $314.58 on Thursday, up 0.36%, having gained 37.6% over the past year but fallen 7.5% over the past month. Nintendo stock climbed 3.5% to 9,032 yen in Tokyo on Friday as the Pokemon World Championships opened at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. Ternus takes the helm eight days before Apple’s September 9 iPhone keynote expected to reveal the iPhone 18 Pro and Apple’s first foldable iPhone.
