Trump’s administration is considering new tariffs on U.S. semiconductors, targeting a wider range of tech products including laptops, data center servers, and gaming hardware. The U.S. president has stated he intends to impose tariffs of approximately 100% on semiconductors, with exemptions for companies manufacturing domestically. The administration already imposed a 25% tariff on certain AI chips in January. Chinese firms continue to access Nvidia chips despite U.S. export restrictions, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the American trade strategy.
