Nvidia strikes massive GPU deal with AWS, deploying over a million chips through 2027

Nvidia and Amazon Web Services have signed one of the largest GPU supply agreements in cloud computing history, with over one million GPUs set to be delivered to AWS starting in 2026 through 2027. The deal covers Nvidia’s latest Blackwell and Rubin chip architectures along with the full Nvidia networking stack including Spectrum chips, ConnectX adapters, and Spectrum X gear. The agreement also incorporates Groq’s inference-optimized chips, reflecting the broader industry shift where inference now accounts for roughly two-thirds of total AI compute demand. Jensen Huang has projected a one trillion dollar revenue opportunity for the Blackwell and Rubin product families through 2027, and the AWS deal represents a concrete down payment on that vision. This partnership underscores the deepening dependency between the world’s largest cloud provider and its most important silicon supplier.
