Core Lightning Tells Node Operators To Go Offline, With No Patch Published

Core Lightning maintainers told node operators to take their nodes offline unless they upgrade to a release that has not been published yet. The Core Lightning network carries approximately 3,750 BTC across 33,101 channels and 16,420 nodes according to mempool.space data. The team will publish binaries with fixes under embargo for two weeks without specifying which vulnerabilities are being addressed. This alert marks the fourth incident in four weeks for Bitcoin infrastructure, following bugs affecting Coldcard, Boltz and BTCPay Server, and comes after a wave of AI-generated vulnerability reports received by the project.
