Okta pops 15% after topping estimates as AI threat spikes demand for identity security

Identity software provider Okta saw its shares surge 15% in extended trading after beating Wall Street estimates for the fiscal second quarter. The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $1.05, above the 97 cents expected, and revenue of $805 million, beating the $795 million estimate. Okta made its Okta for AI Agents tool widely available to all customers and closed dozens of AI deals. The company also completed its acquisition of threat detection startup Permiso Security for roughly $200 million and raised its full-year guidance, now expecting revenue between $3.22 billion and $3.23 billion.
