Iran’s nuclear sites remain off-limits for IAEA inspections, says chief

Mohammad Eslami, head of Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, stated that Iran remains in a wartime situation and its nuclear sites are not yet ready for inspections. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) cannot conduct inspections until a proper protocol is established. This stance comes amid heightened tensions following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities in 2025 and 2026. The IAEA now has only limited access to certain unaffected facilities. Prediction markets reflect a near-zero probability of 0.4% for an inspection occurring before August 31.
