The U.S. Department of Justice announced the dismantling of two hacking platforms, QScan and QTRouter, used by a Chinese state-sponsored group. Victims include the Federal Reserve, the U.S. Senate, the DOJ, NASA, the Energy Department and the National Institutes of Health. Hospitals, telecommunications providers, power companies, financial institutions and defense contractors were also targeted. The hacking group, designated QTFY, was employed by the Chinese company Nanjing Xinjiuwei Network Technology. Attorney General Todd Blanche stated that those behind the intrusions would be stopped and prosecuted, and that the government would use every tool at its disposal to ensure the security of Americans.
