The Apodex laboratory released on August 24, 2026 the Apodex 1.1 model, designed to manage up to 150 AI sub-agents running in parallel on local hardware. The Mini variant, with 35 billion parameters, was released with open weights enabling local deployment. On APEX-Agents and GDPVal benchmarks, the model achieved scores of 38.5 and 78.8, placing it according to the team at the level of systems from Anthropic and OpenAI. The architecture relies on AgentOS, an asynchronous coordination system allowing multiple agents to work simultaneously on complex tasks. The team also open-sourced FrontierAgent, a runtime and research workbench supporting ReAct-style workflows.
