Manchester United are close to signing Turkish left-back Ferdi Kadıoğlu from Brighton & Hove Albion for approximately £40 million. Brighton had themselves acquired the player from Fenerbahçe in August 2024 for roughly £25 million. The Istanbul club, which negotiated a 10% sell-on clause, will receive around £4 million from this transaction. Kadıoğlu was named Brighton’s Player of the Year during the 2025-2026 season. This signing aims to address the persistent issues at the left-back position at Old Trafford, where Luke Shaw’s injury problems have long been a concern.
