Brighton & Hove Albion have signed left-back Jaouen Hadjam from Swiss club BSC Young Boys for €12 million including add-ons. The 23-year-old French-Algerian defender, who came through Paris FC and then played for Nantes, has signed a five-year contract running through 2031. Hadjam made over 70 appearances in the Swiss Super League with Young Boys, who signed him from Nantes for €1.3 million in January 2024. He becomes Brighton’s eighth summer signing and will compete with Maxim De Cuyper for the left-back spot. Young Boys turned a €1.3 million investment into a €12 million sale in approximately 30 months.
