Ethereum is considering a change (EIP-8148) that would allow validators using 0x02 withdrawal credentials to set a custom threshold for automatic reward sweeping between 32 ETH and the current 2,048 ETH ceiling. The 16,926 active 0x02 validators hold 13.36 million ETH, representing 32.43% of active stake, a proportion far exceeding what their count suggests. The proposal remains in draft stage and its activation timing is still unresolved. The timing of actual customer payouts depends on operator policies, not on the protocol change itself.
