Manchester United have completed the signing of Cameroon international midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton & Hove Albion for a deal worth up to £70 million, comprising £65 million in guaranteed payments plus £5 million in potential add-ons. At 22 years old, the Cameroon international becomes United’s third midfield signing this summer, following Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans. Brighton negotiated a sell-on clause that will entitle them to a percentage of any future transfer fee should United move Baleba on. Baleba had reportedly been pushing for a move to Old Trafford since August 2025, roughly a year before the agreement was finalized. The sale continues Brighton’s established pattern of developing players and selling them at significant profit, following Moises Caicedo’s record-breaking move to Chelsea.
