Yan Diomande set for first match at Bernabéu with Real Madrid

Nineteen-year-old Ivorian winger Yan Diomande will make his first appearance at the Santiago Bernabéu tonight against Real Sociedad, following a record transfer of 125 million euros (potentially rising to 140 million with add-ons) from RB Leipzig. This fee makes him the most expensive signing in Real Madrid’s history, surpassing that of Jude Bellingham, his current teammate. Diomande, who signed a contract running until June 30, 2033, is the first player from Ivory Coast to represent the club. His arrival is part of a major squad overhaul by new manager José Mourinho, who has also signed Marc Cucurella and Bernardo Silva this summer. Real Madrid, who have not won La Liga in two consecutive seasons, are counting on Diomande alongside Kylian Mbappé and Jude Bellingham to restore their fortunes.
