Ledger pushes back on Ethereum app flaw claims: ‘Manufacturing fear for attention’

Ledger CTO Charles Guillemet responded on August 23rd to accusations regarding a security flaw in the hardware wallet manufacturer’s Ethereum application. The vulnerability, which allowed users to sign a transaction different from what was displayed on screen, was fixed on August 12th in version 1.22.2 of the Ethereum app. Ledger accused the security firm TestMachine of publishing the information irresponsibly, as the issue had already been discovered and fixed internally by Ledger’s Donjon security team. No funds were reportedly stolen through this specific flaw.
