The July FOMC meeting minutes revealed a historic 9-3 split among policymakers, the widest division in roughly two decades, making the monetary policy timeline particularly uncertain. The 30-year Treasury yields have climbed to approximately 5.2%, a level not seen since 2007. Warsh has convened 15 external experts to evaluate the Fed’s monetary policy framework, with recommendations expected by the end of 2026, fueling speculation about a possible abandonment of the average inflation targeting strategy.
