Liverpool has announced their starting lineup for the opening match of the 2026/27 Premier League season against Newcastle, to be played on August 23 at St. James’ Park. New head coach Andoni Iraola has opted for a 4-2-3-1 formation, with the first start of defender Jeremy Jacquet alongside Virgil van Dijk. Young winger Rio Ngumoha was preferred over Victor Munoz. Striker Alexander Isak, returning to face his former club, leads the Reds’ attack in the 4-2-3-1 setup. Kickoff is set for 4:30 PM BST.
