Kalshi reached a record 17.98 million dollars in open interest on its crypto perpetual futures contracts. The company became the first in U.S. history to offer CFTC-regulated perpetual futures on May 29, 2026. These contracts allow traders to take leveraged positions on assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, and XRP without owning the underlying tokens. As of June 3, 2026, Kalshi offered 13 CFTC-approved crypto perpetual futures contracts with maximum leverage of 5.9x for Bitcoin and 4.5x for Ethereum. This volume remains negligible compared to Hyperliquid’s 11.7 billion dollars in daily open interest.
