CRV traders turn bearish during Curve DAO’s 14% rally – Just bad timing?

Share

Curve DAO (CRV) surged 14% in 24 hours, driven by spot purchases of approximately $1.06 million and spot volume climbing from $25.4 million to $260.1 million on its decentralized exchange. Transaction count reached its highest level in 30 days with over 24,400 transactions, while CRV gained more than 45% over the past month. However, derivatives traders maintained a bearish stance, with the Open Interest-Weighted Funding Rate dropping to -0.0078%, indicating that short-position traders were paying to maintain their positions. Daily Active Users remained concentrated between 417 and 482, staying below the 500 threshold throughout the month, which could make activity more sensitive to shifts among this small group. The combination of bearish funding rates and concentrated usage may test the rally’s durability despite the strong momentum.
