What Is Bitcoin Infinity Day? The 8/21 Ritual That Bans Selling for a Day

Share

Bitcoin Infinity Day falls on August 21 with one rule: buy Bitcoin or do nothing, as selling is strictly forbidden. The date hides a code where the rotated 8 becomes the infinity symbol and 21 refers to Bitcoin’s fixed cap of 21 million coins. The concept originated on August 10, 2021, from Swedish author Knut Svanholm, who built it around the ∞/21M symbol. This year, Bitcoin trades near $75,360 after an 8.37% single-day jump, pushing its market cap back above $1.51 trillion while the Crypto Fear and Greed Index climbed from 46 to 62. Short positions worth roughly $1.06 billion were wiped out in one day, though the all-time high of $126,080 from October 6, 2025, remains about 40% above current levels.
