X, formerly Twitter, is reportedly exploring the use of USDC, Circle’s stablecoin, to compensate content creators on its platform. This initiative would aim to simplify international payments by bypassing traditional banking wire constraints. The platform is also set to replace its Creator Revenue Sharing program with the Original Content Rewards Program starting September 8. Recipients will nonetheless need a compatible wallet and comply with applicable regulations in their respective countries. This move comes as Meta and Visa Direct have already launched similar initiatives using stablecoins to pay creators.
