GSR’s Andy Baehr makes the case for tokenized fixed income as the collateral layer traditional finance actually needs

Tokenized fixed income instruments are gaining more institutional traction than tokenized equities due to their valuation clarity. HSBC’s Orion platform has crossed $3.5 billion in cumulative tokenized bond issuances, while Goldman Sachs’ GS DAP platform has exceeded $700 million in tokenized fixed income instruments. Research published by DTCC on May 13, 2026 confirmed that tokenized traditional assets improve collateral mobility and reduce capital requirements. Andy Baehr, appointed as managing director of asset management at GSR in February 2026, saw the group launch in April 2026 the BESO fund, its first actively managed multi-asset crypto ETF, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana.
