Fortinet has acquired Virtue AI, a startup specializing in protecting autonomous AI systems during runtime. The deal, announced on August 17, will integrate Virtue AI’s runtime protection and automated validation technologies into Fortinet’s FortiAIGate platform. The startup had raised 30 million dollars across seed and Series A rounds in 2025. Financial terms were not disclosed, with Fortinet describing the acquisition as immaterial to its overall business. According to Gartner forecasts, the market for securing AI ecosystems and agents will grow from 2.8 billion dollars in 2026 to 16.4 billion dollars by 2030.
