HTX-linked transfers spark freeze concerns – Why even 3 USDT matters

On August 18th, users of the HTX exchange platform reported receiving unsolicited USDT transfers ranging from 3 to 10 USDT. Several recipients had their accounts frozen shortly after receiving these deposits due to sanctions imposed on HTX. HTX officially denied being the source of these transfers and stated it is investigating their origin. The United Kingdom imposed an asset freeze on HTX-linked activities on May 26th, and the European Union banned transactions with the platform on August 23rd, increasing vigilance among receiving exchanges. The size of the transfers is not the key factor; it is their apparent origin that triggers account review processes.
