Home Depot reaffirms guidance amid ‘frozen housing market conditions’

Home Depot reported second-quarter fiscal results that exceeded Wall Street expectations. Revenue reached $47.86 billion versus $47.27 billion expected, while adjusted earnings per share came in at $4.92 against $4.73 anticipated. Comparable sales rose 1.7%, beating estimates of 0.9% growth. CFO Richard McPhail described the environment as ‘frozen housing market’ conditions, noting customers have the means to spend but remain hesitant due to inflation, fuel costs and general uncertainty. The company reaffirmed its fiscal 2026 guidance with expected sales growth between 2.5% and 4.5%.
