Cybercriminal ZeroBytes claims to have exfiltrated 43 gigabytes of data from France’s Education Ministry, covering over twenty years of history and affecting students, parents, teachers, and administrative staff. The ministry confirmed an intrusion occurred on the night of July 25 following account hijacking, but has not validated the claimed breach scope. The data reportedly originates from systems including Base Élèves 1er Degré, SCONET, and the I-Prof career management tool, with approximately 4.35 million unique identifiers after partial deduplication. If the authenticity of the files is confirmed, this breach would create a high risk of phishing and identity theft for millions of individuals.
