Wolfspeed, STMicroelectronics and On Semiconductor stocks surged on Monday as Nvidia’s Vera Rubin platform entered full production ramp. The next-generation AI platform requires 800VDC power architecture for AI data centers, directly driving demand for silicon carbide semiconductors, which handle power conversion more efficiently than traditional silicon. Wolfspeed, STMicroelectronics and On Semiconductor were among the main beneficiaries as investors mapped their positions in the Vera Rubin supply chain. Wolfspeed, which emerged from Chapter 11 restructuring in September 2025 with a leaner balance sheet, repositioned itself to capture SiC demand from AI data centers after struggling with automotive-related capacity. Risks remain: SiC manufacturing stays expensive and technically challenging, and Chinese manufacturers are ramping production, potentially pressuring margins for Western suppliers.
