JPMorgan Chase is approaching a $1 trillion market valuation, which would make it the first bank in the world to reach this milestone, after a valuation of $138 billion at the end of 2025. The bank posted the highest-ever quarterly profit by a U.S. bank last month. This performance stems from the strategy refined over two decades by CEO Jamie Dimon: maintain sufficient financial strength to withstand crises, invest when competitors pull back, and use periods of turbulence to expand. Wells Fargo analyst Mike Mayo forecasts that JPMorgan could reach a $2 trillion valuation within seven to eight years, while noting that the question of Dimon’s succession, as head of the bank since 2006, remains a major challenge.
