Nvidia has committed up to $105 billion in lease payments for a major OpenAI data center project in Ohio, developed by SB Energy and backed by SoftBank. The chipmaker will also invest $1.5 billion in SB Energy and secure up to 8 gigawatts of AI computing capacity at the site. The campus in Pike County will initially provide 4.25 gigawatts of capacity starting in 2028, with Nvidia exclusively supplying the AI computing infrastructure. The project is expected to create approximately 35,000 construction jobs through 2032 and 2,500 permanent operating positions.
