Tether, the issuer of the USDT stablecoin, reported $1.5 billion in net operating profit in Q2 and now exceeds 650 million wallets. The company is developing an AI platform called QVAC, capable of running offline on users’ devices in low-connectivity regions. Its first concrete product, QVAC Health, aggregates health, nutrition, and biometric data while keeping control on the user’s device. Tether has also invested in the health sector, including in Eight Sleep, valued at $1.5 billion. CEO Paolo Ardoino positions USDT as a « digital dollar » for emerging markets, turning a financial product into an ecosystem for some 650 million users.
