Bybit’s Austrian payments subsidiary, Bybit Payments GmbH, has secured an electronic money institution license from Austria’s Financial Market Authority. The authorization enables the exchange to provide person-to-person payments, merchant payment solutions, open banking features and card products through the Bybit.eu platform, available across the European Economic Area except Malta. Bybit Payments GmbH operates alongside Bybit EU GmbH, a separate entity authorized under the EU’s MiCA regulation since May 2025, dedicated to crypto custody, exchange and transfer services. The exchange aims to strengthen its relationships with banks, payment providers and enterprises thanks to this new regulatory milestone.
