AMD’s data center revenue more than doubled year-over-year to $6.7 billion in the latest quarter, driven by surging demand for its EPYC processors and Instinct GPUs from AI infrastructure buildout. This growth came at the expense of its gaming division, which saw a 31% revenue decline to $779 million due to console component shortages and pricing pressures. Former Bitcoin miners are pivoting toward AI infrastructure, with Core Scientific signing a 15-year, 529 MW agreement worth approximately $14 billion, while public miners like TeraWulf and Cipher Mining have collectively signed over $70 billion in AI and HPC contracts. AMD forecasts its gaming revenue will decline more than 20% in the second half of 2026 compared to the first half.
