Jeff Bezos plans to sell 15 million Amazon shares for approximately $4.07 billion as the stock fell more than 2% on Tuesday, one day after the company reached a $3 trillion valuation for the first time. The sale was priced at $271.58 per share, Friday’s closing price, before Monday’s record close at $284.02. Second quarter results boosted the stock: revenue rose 20% to $200.6 billion and operating income to $27.5 billion, while Amazon Web Services surged 37% to $42.2 billion. This sale represents 1.7% of Bezos’s stake, with the founder still holding roughly 8% of the company in early May.
