According to Bernstein analysts, the moratorium will not impact Bitcoin miners with already-approved electricity contracts, as it targets new projects and not already-connected operations. This measure could actually strengthen the position of established miners by limiting new competitors’ access to the Texas grid. Companies like Riot Platforms and Marathon Digital, which have substantial presence in Texas, stand to benefit from reduced competition for power and potential hosting revenue.
