Arthur Hayes, former BitMEX CEO, sold 2,365 ETH for 4.3 million USDC, representing a selling price of $1,821 per token. This transaction resulted in a loss of $241,000, or 5.3%, as he had previously purchased 7,213 ETH for a total of $13.87 million at an average price of $1,923. The price of ETH had retreated from a multi-month peak of $1,980. This was not Hayes’ first losing ETH trade, as he had previously sold at a loss below $1,700 after buying above $1,900 several weeks earlier.
