Mexico’s AI infrastructure exports hit a record 105.8 billion dollars between January and May 2026, representing an 84.5% year-on-year surge that for the first time eclipsed automotive shipments. Global contract manufacturers including Foxconn, Flex, Jabil, and Sanmina have set up operations in Mexico, assembling AI hardware destined for US hyperscale data center operators. AWS alone has pledged over 5 billion dollars toward its new Mexico (Central) Region, with facilities in Querétaro. Foreign direct investment in Mexico’s manufacturing sector reached 40.9 billion dollars over the first nine months of 2025, up 15% year-on-year. AI hardware is on track to become a majority of the bilateral trade relationship, with an annualized run rate exceeding 250 billion dollars.
