US expands import ban to 43 companies over Uyghur forced labor allegations

The United States has added 43 companies, including Hunan Aihua Group, to its import blacklist under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA). This expansion represents the largest single addition to the entity list since the law took effect in December 2021. Since June 2022, US Customs and Border Protection has reviewed shipments valued at nearly $3.7 billion under these regulations. The targeted sectors include textiles, cotton, polysilicon solar components, and mining minerals, which directly affect Bitcoin mining operations through both the solar energy supply chain and hardware components dependent on rare earth elements.
