Microsoft leads stock comeback from Wednesday carnage

U.S. stocks are bouncing back Thursday after Wednesday’s sharp decline. Microsoft led the rally, surging 15.2% after reporting quarterly profits that exceeded analyst expectations, driven by strong growth in its Azure cloud business and AI adoption. The S&P 500 gained 0.9% and recovered more than half of its previous day’s decline, while the Nasdaq rose 1.8%. Meta Platforms fell 8.9% amid concerns over increased investment spending. Brent crude declined to $86.79 per barrel, and the 10-year Treasury yield settled at 4.65%.
