Ripple expands from payments to full-stack financial infrastructure

Ripple has rebuilt its offering around a comprehensive financial infrastructure platform after spending roughly $2.45 billion on acquisitions in 2025. The company purchased Hidden Road for $1.25 billion to add prime brokerage capabilities and GTreasury for approximately $1 billion to gain institutional treasury management tools. The platform now handles custody for over 1 million wallets, provides 90% global forex coverage, and processed more than $100 billion in transaction volume by March 2026. This expansion positions Ripple in direct competition with Coinbase Prime, BitGo, and Fireblocks in the digital asset financial infrastructure space.
