BitMart, a cryptocurrency exchange platform, announced the start of its wind-down operations on July 26, halting registrations, deposits, and new trading activity. Following the 2021 security breach that compromised nearly $200 million, user confidence and liquidity never fully recovered. The protocol’s market capitalization dropped from nearly $210 million in April 2024 to just $55.68 million, while daily token volume stood at $6.16 million. This exit illustrates the growing concentration of liquidity among centralized exchanges, with the top five platforms now holding 55 to 70 percent of global trading activity.
