More than 150 million identity documents were reportedly offered for sale on the dark web following a data breach at identity verification provider IDScan.net. U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth’s driver’s license was listed for sale at just $100. The FBI has launched an investigation into the breach involving Russian identity theft service Nexus, which claims to possess travel documents, medical cards, and various other forms of ID. Among the affected IDScan clients were Fortune 500 companies including Shell, FedEx, Hertz, General Motors, and Caesars Entertainment.
