Zcash surges over 6,300% from 2024 lows as first US spot ETF fuels institutional frenzy

Zcash hit an all-time high between $1,025 and $1,046 in early September 2026, surging over 6,300% from its 2024 lows when the token was trading around $16. The privacy-focused cryptocurrency’s market capitalization reached nearly $17 billion, briefly overtaking Dogecoin. Grayscale’s launch of the first US spot Zcash ETF on August 25, 2026 provided institutional investors with a regulated vehicle to gain exposure to ZEC, driving prices to record levels. Approximately 30% of Zcash’s total supply now sits in its shielded pool, reflecting growing demand for private transactions. Despite this remarkable rally, the $17 billion market cap still places Zcash well outside the top ten cryptocurrencies by valuation.
