Zcash (ZEC) crossed the $1,000 threshold for the first time, rising more than 20% in 24 hours to set a new all-time high. Over the past year, ZEC has gained approximately 19 times its initial value, with nearly 80% growth in the last month alone. This surge is driven by renewed interest in privacy amid artificial intelligence concerns, the conversion of Grayscale’s Zcash Trust into a spot product listed on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH on August 25, and a Grayscale research note highlighting Zcash as a solution to increased blockchain traceability risks from AI. On derivatives markets, ZEC futures volume reached approximately $6.38 billion, up 113.64%, while open interest climbed 34.97% to $2.16 billion.
