Zcash developer Zakura has proposed assigning a separate viewing key to each Zcash swap made through NEAR Intents, aiming to reduce the risk that a potential attacker could link too much information about a user’s transaction history. This design limits exposure if a key is compromised: only the relevant transaction would be revealed, not an entire wallet’s past. The mechanism also includes private information retrieval, allowing software to locate applicable refunds without broadcasting which addresses a user is checking. This is not a response to a demonstrated quantum attack against Zcash, but preventative engineering based on a hypothetical future risk. The proposal remains under review and has not yet resulted in a widely deployed solution.
